Q1. What type of communication setting is required for the Nissan CONSULT harness?
A. The CONSULT harness is needed for earlier OBD2 models. The user will need to check the vehicle's on board diagnostic port to see whether they have an OBD2 or CONSULT port. The user needs to use setting NISSAN1 if the CONSULT harness is used.
Q2. Can the CAMP2 be used with other products that connect to the OBD2 port?
A. Generally, no. However, if an F-CON iS is connected to the OBD2 port, you can still connect it to the CAMP2 using the F-CON Connection Harness.
Q3. Can the CAMP2 be used on cars that do not have an OBD2 Port, has an incompatible OBD2 port, or use the old Nissan port?
A. If the vehicle has an F-CON S/SZ/iS/V-Pro, you can connect it to the CAMP2 using the F-CON Connection Harness. Alternately, you can use the I/F Meter Interface Unit with the CAMP2 and receive readings for Boost Pressure, Water Temp, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, Fuel Pressure, and EGT.
For Non-OBD2 vehicles, the Universal Adapter is now available 48002-AK007
Q4. Can the CAMP2 be hardwired, like the original CAMP? (updated 6-16-09)
A. The CAMP2 can be wired into a non-OBD2 vehicle using an universal adapter. The universal adapter is limited to SPEED, RPM, INJECTOR, and THROTTLE(new) data readings. All optional IF sensors can be used with the Meter Interface Unit.
Q5. Can the CAMP2 display data from other manufacturers' engine management systems?
A. No, the CAMP2 is designed to work with most factory vehicle OBD2 ports and the F-CON S/SZ/iS/V-Pro only, due to differences in the Serial Protocols.
Q6. Can the CAMP2 be used with US specific vehicles?
A. Current confirmed US specfic vehicles are listed below.
Please check back as we update the vehicle application information below.
Updated 05-01-2009 US Application Guide
Q7. Where can I find a list for vehicles that do not work with the CAMP2?
A. We will update the below list as we find vehicles that will not work with the CAMP2 OBD2 harness.
Vehicles that do not work with the CAMP2 using the OBD2 harness may be able to use the Universal Adapter for SPEED, RPM, INJECTOR, and THROTTLE.
All other optional IF sensors would require the Meter IF Unit.
2006 Honda S2000
Chevrolet Corvette
Dodge Viper
Q8. Can fuel efficiency be monitored for every vehicle?
A. Fuel efficiency cannot be monitored on vehicles marked with an (X) on INJECTOR or SPEED section of the vehicle application chart.
(Due to variations in different regions, vehicle display data may vary)
Example: Certain vehicles within HONDA, MITSUBISHI and TOYOTA2 specs may not display fuel efficiency.
Q9. What do the blanks mean in the vehicle application chart?
A. Unconfirmed vehicles or parameters.
(Due to variations in different regions, vehicle display data may vary)
Q10. How many different display data can the CAMP2 view?
A. In total there are 24 types of data:
Standard Data (varies by vehicle application): Vehicle speed, RPM, water temp, ignition timing, air intake volume, intake temp, throttle position, intake manifold pressure, O2 voltage, airflow voltage, real-time fuel efficiency, injector timing, battery voltage, horsepower.
Optional I/F unit and sensors required: I/F boost, I/F water temp, I/F oil temp, I/F oil pressure, I/F fuel pressure, I/F EGT.
F-CON and Knock Amp: A/F correction, A/F learning, Knock.
(A/F and Knock can only be viewed when an A/F Knock Amp is connected to an F-CON unit via an F-CON Connection Harness)
Q11. If the CAMP2 is hooked up to the navigation using an auxillary input, can we listen to external sources of music? (example: iPod)
A. Generally yes. However, units with a single auxillary input require the following optional diagram, which will eliminate the CAMP2 audio.

Q12. An Authorized Pro Dealer connected a F-CON unit to the CAMP2. Can I edit maps on the CAMP2?
A. Protected or locked maps cannot be edited; F-CON V-Pro maps cannot be edited.
Q13. If I have an F-CON V-Pro, will i be able to view all maps?
A. Viewable maps are the same as what can be viewed on the F-CON NAVIGATOR. (For the F-CON V-Pro Version 3.1 or newer only)
Q14. Can the CAMP2 be used with any vehicle monitor?
A. Yes, as long as the vehicle monitor is NTSC compatible (PAL systems have not been tested) and has an additional A/V input. If the vehicle monitor does not have an input, you will have to purchase an aftermarket adapter. If the unit has a TV tuner functionality option; you can output the CAMP2 as a TV channel video feed using a "Video Transmitter".
(The used A/V input signal must not "shut-off" while driving)
